Industrial Visit to GENPACT

Bangalore Management Academy had organized an industrial visit on the 20th of April, 2010 in Symphony Marketing Services which is now acquired by Genpact.

Genpact is primarily a Business Process Outsourcing. However, the division which has acquired Symphony Marketing Services mainly specializes into comprehensive analytics, database management, charting and reporting, business insights business intelligence, personal care efficacy, patient care efficacy, data management, panel data, Doctor Database Management System (DDMS), Hospital Database Management System (HDMS), industrial research and surveys. Their key accounts comprises of leading giants in the industry like Pepsi Co., Coca Cola, Intercontinental Medical Statistics (IMS), IRI and many more promising names who have a strong say in the industry. Genpact also proclaims to be the number one in the industry in the area of business intelligence.

It was more a virtual presentation dominated industrial visit, wherein respective vertical representatives shared some important piece of information and advices with all of us. It was quite apparent on their part that they didn’t take us throughout the organization because this was a service industry and not a plant and machinery subjugated, manufacturing industry.

There were four presentations by four different vertical heads speaking on their subject matter expertise, namely, Mr. Renuka, heading the Talent Acquisition Group (TAG), Mr. Adarsh Sharma head of Business Analytics, Mr. Achyuta S. CPG (FMCG) Manager IMS and Mrs. Veena, one of the senior most respectable employees in Genpact, commissioning the Human Resources vertical.

The visit to the industry was in all an enhanced learning process as it was accompanied by learned faculty members Prof. Dattaraj and Ms. Shenaz who helped us know and understand the process even better as they possess a strong technical knowledge along with industrial experience and thorough understanding with brands like Intel, AXA, Microland. etc not only in India but also in the USA.
